Home Care Protocols

Once discharged, patients must follow strict guidelines to ensure healing:

• Incision Care: Keep the surgical site clean and dry. Avoid soaking the head in water until stitches or staples are removed.
• Activity Levels: Avoid heavy lifting, bending, and strenuous exercise. Short, frequent walks are highly encouraged to support circulation.
• Medications: Take prescribed anti-seizure medications and pain relief strictly as directed by Dr. Wakkman.

Rehabilitation and Reviews

Physical, occupational, or speech therapy may be recommended to regain lost functions. Follow-up MRI reviews are scheduled to monitor brain tissue and verify the successful resolution of the underlying pathology.
